Osteodensitometry (Dexa)

Bone densitometry (DEXA)

Bone densitometry (DEXA) is a modern method of determining the bone density and resistance. This investigation is recommended for anyone with high risk of ostoporosis, such as: women after menopause or pre-menopausal women, people who have noticed a loss of height, men over 65 years old, smokers and people who are undergoing cortizone or hormonal suppression treatments.

The procedure is painless, doesn't require previous preparation, while the irradiation dose is 10 times lower than a standard X-Ray.
