Ultrasonography

 

Diagnostic sonography (ultrasonography) is an imaging method using high-frequency sound waves in order to produce images of the internal organs. The ultrasound examination doesn't use ionized radiation (X-Rays), thus it can be used in diagnosing many afflictions in pregnant women and children.

 

The ultrasound investigation is used in OB-Gyn, pelvic-abdominal afflictions, mammal pathology, thyroidal pathology, orthopedic, urology etc., are non-invasive and painless.

 

The sonographic images can be one-dimesional, two-dimensional or three-dimensional, depending on the used probe.
