X-Ray investigations are not advisable for pregnant women and children. It is very important that, during the first trimester of pregnancy, women do not expose themselves to radiation, because these may cause DNA mutations in the fetus. The doctors need to keep in mind the benefits vs. risks of the procedure while prescribing it to pregnant women and children.
